Go-on Noppera-bo

This episode is so dang cute. Smile smile!

Making of the Movie

I completely forgot that I owned this DVD until this weekend. This is a raw but still interesting to watch even without subs.

Theatrical & Net Movies

Alternate dimension versions of previous toku heroes
Go-Onger Movie: BOOM BOOM! BANG BANG! The Movie, BANG!!

This one is 704x384 because I couldn't find an ISO or a raw with a better resolution.

I couldn't think of a translation of Honooshuu that would have some sort of parallel with "Engine", so I just went with a straight up literal meaning.

You fiend!
Go-Onger Net Movies: BOM BOM! BOM BOM! On the Net, BONG!!

Scripts:

1-4 take place before the movie, and 5 takes place afterward. These are 856x480 like the rest.

Ehhh? Ehhh!?

In this episode, "ito" (thread) was left untranslated several times for reasons I cannot even begin to fathom. So I took this opportunity to come up with all kinds of thread-related puns! Yay

GP-21

This episode was a pretty big pain to work with. Balloon Banki is apparently based on Tora-san from Otoko wa Tsurai yo so he throws puns and nonsense lines all over the place. I tried my best to replace them with appropriate jokes.

Also TVN had "Go-onger Screw" as "Go-onger Shoot". what

GP-20

I wish I had infinite free time to rewrite dialog to give characters their own distinct speaking style since that's a big thing in Go-onger. Oh well.

かっこよすぎる…

Not much to say this episode, so here's some nice engrish from one of the Go-onger books I have.

With tough mind,
Hard-built body,
Two splendid soldiers have come down on the earth
---- They called Go-on Wings, Hiroto and Miu
raison detre of them is being the messiah,
also they two tied so fast, and never apart
and if by the ghost ---- frighten them mostly in the [cut off]

Another one-time-use combo

I did some research om Vacuum Banki's attack, "Zui zui zukkorobashi", and found out that it's a reference to an old children's song and that doesn't seem to have a direct translation or meaning. Since I'm thinking they chose that attack name because "zui" is supposed to be the sound of a vacuum cleaner, I changed it to "Eenie meenie vroom vroom".

GP-17

I hated these two the first time around, but they've grown on me.

Every instance of "ani" and "aniki" have been changed to "bro" and "big bro" respectively.

Go-on Silver's official translation of her roll call is "World Sparkling", but I thought that's too awkward and engrish-y so I left it as Sparkling World.

There have been a couple of instances where TVN missed the "cockscomb is standing up" idiom so far (I changed the lines to "ruffles my feathers"). I guess takenoko didn't learn that phrase until the Go-onger Net Movies.

GP-16

The greatest part of the Go-ongers' arsenal
TVN missed the part about Renn thinking Gunpei's drawing was a UMA (unidentified mysterious animal) by just leaving it as "yuma", as if Renn was making up a word. Why would he do that? He's a smartypants. (Thinking of it now, maybe "cryptid" would've been better than UMA since I don't think many people would know what a UMA is. Change it in the script and re-mux it if you like)

GP-15

It comes with the paint job
TVN never managed to get Toripter's Batariot attack correct, they always put it as "battery out".
